What is the Ticket Structure for this event?
The Three-Day Reserved ticket is good for admission to grounds and your assigned seat on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. A Three-Day General Admission is good for admission to grounds, viewing mounds, Stand A, Stand C, North Vista, North Vista Platform (wheelchair accessible) Northwest Vista, Paddock Box, Paddock Reserved, Paddock Platform (wheelchair accessible), Southeast Vista, and Tower Terrace (Sections 39 through 77 Only) on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Who needs to purchase a ticket?
For reserved seating areas, any person, regardless of age, must have a seat ticket for admittance. For general admission, children ages 5 and younger are admitted free all three days.
Is there seating/parking for disabled individuals?
Yes. Reserved wheelchair and companion seats are available in the Corner 7 Terrace Platform, Tower Terrace Platform and Wheelchair Accessible Stand. Parking is included with the purchase of reserved disabled seating. General Admission seating for wheelchairs and companions will be available in Paddock Platform and North Vista Platform.
What if I require disabled parking but have purchased a ticket not in a wheelchair-designated area?
Disabled customers with general admission tickets are directed to handicapped parking areas, availability permitting, provided they have a state-issued hang tag or a handicapped license plate. Parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
What are some of the specific grandstand features?
Portions of the Penthouse and Box seat locations (higher rows) are covered. In those areas, seats do have backs on them - either bench style or folding chair. Grandstands H, J, and all Vistas are not covered areas, and there are no seat backs. (All Vista Deck seats are bench with backs.) Seats in the Tower Terrace are benches with backs. Access to all stand areas is by stairs or ramps. A detailed seating map is not available. Can I view the entire course from my seat?
The entire course is not visible from any one location, but the Indianapolis Motor Speedway is one of the most fan-friendly sports facilities in the world thanks in part to the 18 large-screen video displays located around the facility. The screens provide a continual visual of track activity not in your immediate sight line, plus real-time timing-and-scoring information.
What may I carry into the facility?
Coolers no larger than 14 by 14 by 14 inches are permitted. Food and beverages are permitted, but no glass containers are allowed. Binoculars, scanners and cameras are allowed inside the Speedway. Strollers, lawn chairs and folding camping chairs are permitted, but such items are not permitted in stands. Animals, other than law enforcement dogs and assistance animals for the disabled, are not allowed. All items brought through the gate are subject to search.

How do I purchase official event merchandise?
Merchandise is available at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Online Store at www.indianapolismotorspeedway.com, Indianapolis Motor Speedway Hall of Fame Museum Gift Shops and Brickyard Authentics, or by calling the Mail Order Department at (800) 955-INDY. ABOUT MotoGP:
Is the race length set by laps or time?
The race length is set by distance. The minimum distance for MotoGP races is 59 miles (95 km) and maximum is 80.8 miles (130 km). The Red Bull Indianapolis GP will consist of 28 laps, or just more than 73 miles.
Do they run in the rain?
Yes, MotoGP will run in the rain unless weather conditions become severe enough to compromise rider safety.
How many bikes create the field?
Currently there are 19 riders set to compete in the MotoGP class at the Red Bull Indianapolis GP. There are one three-rider team, seven two-rider teams and two one-rider teams.
Are the teams fielded by manufacturers or other companies or individuals?
Well-known motorcycle manufacturers Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Ducati and Kawasaki are fielding MotoGP teams for the 2008 season, but several "privateer" teams that do not directly receive factory backing also are competing.
What other races are taking place during the weekend at IMS?
There will be five races in four different categories overall during the Red Bull Indianapolis GP. Besides the elite-level MotoGP class, competition also will take place in the 250cc and 125cc world championship categories for riders who aspire to race one day in MotoGP. Some of the top teen-age riders in the world will compete in the Red Bull Riders Cup and Red Bull AMA U.S. Rookies Cup events during the weekend.
What is the starting format for a MotoGP race?
MotoGP begins each race with a standing start, three riders per row. Riders are lined up in each row in a staggered, or "echelon" format.
How long is the MotoGP track at IMS?
The road course measures 2.621 miles and has 16 turns.
Will there be extra motorcycle parking for Race Day?
Yes, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway will have additional parking available for motorcyclists. Parking information is available online at the Tickets section of www.redbullindianapolisgp.com or by calling the IMS Ticket Office (800) 822-INDY (4639) or (317) 492-6702.
Will there be public pit and garage passes available?
Fans cannot buy paddock passes for this event. But the Red Bull Indianapolis GPreview on Thursday, Sept. 11 and other fan-friendly events at IMS will take place.
Where will the garages and pits be located for MotoGP?
MotoGP will use the pit-side garages located along the main straightaway south of the Bombardier Learjet Pagoda. Pit lane is located between the garages and the main straightaway.
Will the event be televised? Radio coverage? If so - what channels?
The race will be televised live on NBC. Radio broadcast information will be made available as soon as possible.
What riders should we expect to hear mentioned as favorites?
The most recognizable MotoGP rider worldwide, far and away, is Italian Valentino Rossi of the Fiat Yamaha Team. Rossi won five consecutive MotoGP World Championships from 2001-05. American fans will have homegrown riders to cheer. There will be four Americans competing in the MotoGP class at this event: 2006 World Champion and Repsol Honda Team rider Nicky Hayden, of Owensboro, Ky., Tech 3 Yamaha rider Colin Edwards of Houston, Kawasaki Racing rider John Hopkins of Ramona, Calif., and Rizla Suzuki MotoGP rider Ben Spies of Longview, Texas. Another favorite will be Ducati Team rider Casey Stoner of Australia, the 2007 MotoGP World Champion.
Is this a long-term contract?
The Indianapolis Motor Speedway and MotoGP organizers have a multi-year contract to conduct the Red Bull Indianapolis GP.
