·800cc, four-stroke engines.
·Maximum of six gears.
·Minimum weights (not including rider but including oil, water, TV equipment):
Two-cylinder or less engine: 293.2 pounds (133 kg)
Three-cylinder engine: 309.8 pounds (140.5 kg)
Four-cylinder engine: 326.3 pounds (148 kg)
Five-cylinder engine: 342.8 pounds (155.5 kg)
Six-cylinder or more engine: 359.4 pounds (163 kg)
Ballast may be used to reach minimum weight.
·Unleaded gasoline is used as fuel.
·Maximum fuel tank capacity: 5.6 gallons (21 liters)
·Maximum rim width:
Front: 4 inches (10.2 cm)
Rear: 6.25 inches (15.9 cm)
·Tire regulations: A maximum of 31 slick tires (14 front, 17 rear) may be used each event weekend (practice, qualifying, warm-up, race).
RIDERS
·Riders must wear a complete leather suit with additional leather padding or other protection on the principal contact points, knees, elbows, shoulders, hips, etc.
·Linings or undergarments must not be made of a synthetic material, which might melt and cause damage to the rider's skin.
·Riders also must wear leather gloves and boots, which with the suit provides complete coverage from the neck down.
·Leather substitute materials may be used, providing they have been checked by the Chief Technical Scrutineer.
·Use of a back protector is highly recommended.
·Riders must wear a helmet which is in good condition, provides a good fit and is properly fastened.
·Helmets must be of the full-face type and conform to one of the recognized international standards.
·Visors must be made of a shatterproof material.
QUALIFYING MINIMUM STANDARD
·A rider must achieve a time equal to 107 percent of the time by the fastest rider in his class to participate in the race. Exceptions are made at the discretion of the Race Director.
STARTING GRID
·The MotoGP starting grid is set with three riders in each row, staggered in "echelon" format. There are 29.5 feet (9 meters) between each grid row.
·Grid position is set by times set in qualifying. If qualifying is canceled, grid position is set by the overall best time set by each rider in the practice sessions.
BASIC START PROCEDURES
·Race begins with standing start.
·Pit lane exit opens for sighting laps approximately 20 minutes (15 minutes for 125cc, 250cc) before the start of the race.
·Pit lane exit closes approximately 15 minutes (10 minutes for 125cc, 250cc) before the start of the race.
·Green flag is waved to start one warm-up lap two minutes before the start of the race. Warm-up lap can be taken at unrestricted speed.
·When each row of the grid is filled, the starter will instruct the official at the front of the grid, displaying the red flag, to walk to the side of the track. A red light will be displayed for between two and five seconds. The red light will go out to start the race.
RACE DISTANCE
·Minimum: 59 miles (95 km)
·Maximum: 80.8 miles (130 km)
PIT LANE SPEED LIMIT
·Pit lane speed limit is 37.3 mph (60 km/h).
FLAGS
·Green: All clear.
·Yellow and red stripes: Track is slippery for reasons other than rain.
·White with diagonal red cross: Drops of rain on this section of the track.
·White with diagonal red cross and yellow and red-striped flag: Rain on this section of the track.
·Blue: Rider behind is trying to pass.
·Checkered: End of the practice or qualifying session or race.
·Checkered and blue: Checkered will be waved together with the blue flag presented motionless at the finish line on track level when a rider(s) precedes closely the leader during the final lap before the finish line
·Yellow: On course: Danger ahead, slow down, overtaking forbidden until point where green flag is shown. On starting grid: Start of race delayed.
·White: Riders allowed to change machines.
·Red: On course: All riders must return slowly to pits. On starting grid: Shown at end of sighting lap(s) and at end of warm-up lap.
·Black: Shown to an individual rider, who must stop at pits and end of current lap and cannot restart.
·Black with an orange disc: Shown to an individual rider whose machine has a mechanical problem and must immediately leave the track.

Red Bull Indianapolis GP tickets: Ticket orders are being accepted now for the inaugural Red Bull Indianapolis GP on Sunday, Sept. 14, 2008, the first motorcycle race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in nearly 100 years.

The order form is available at the IMS Web site or by calling the IMS Ticket Office at (800) 822-INDY outside the Indianapolis area or (317) 492-6700 locally. Ticket Office hours are 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
All tickets for this event are three-day tickets, with both reserved and general admission seating available.
