Love the Corvette pace cars! The reason we don't have the others anymore is because GM stopped making Cadillac Allante in the mid 90's and since 2000, GM has killed off the entire Oldsmobile line, Chevy Camaro, Pontiacs Fiero and Firebird (which includes Trans Am, of course). Ford has dumped Thunderbird (again) and apparently Mustang, too. I don't know what's going on at Chrysler. There was a Honda pace car a few years back. We will likely see more foreign offerings. That's okay, but it's downright tragic that we have lost so many of our American-made sports cars! |

Not at the Indy 500, of course. Also, the Pontiac Fiero disappeared from the market in the 80s. -D.H. |
